2026 Statewide Voter Guide · All nine congressional districts
Where Arizona stands on Ukraine.
the war is right here.
We asked every candidate for Arizona's U.S. House seats seven questions about U.S. support for Ukraine. This is who answered, what they said, and where the public record fills the silence.
Eight candidates across six districts answered. Those who did back Ukraine strongly and, to a person, name Ukraine as the rightful country of Crimea. The sharpest divisions among them are over long-range strikes and frozen Russian assets. Most of the field, including several incumbents, did not respond; where a candidate has a vote or a public statement on the record, we show it.
How we built this
- The questionnaire
- Cactus & Tryzub sent every candidate a seven-question survey on June 1, 2026. Answers below are shown verbatim. "Did not respond" means the candidate did not answer, not that we could not reach them.
- Ballot status
- Every candidate shown was verified against Arizona's certified list of candidates for the July 21 ballot. We include the Democratic and Republican candidates in each race, plus any minor-party or independent candidate who responded. Write-in candidates are labeled.
- The record
- Where a candidate did not respond, we note a vote or public statement if one exists. Sitting members are shown with their recorded vote on the Ukraine Support Act (H.R. 2913, June 4, 2026). A blank record means we found no public position on Ukraine, not that the candidate opposes it.
- The standard
- Same questions, same sources, same bar for every candidate on this page.
