Flowers Beyond the Dark β Film Screening
Phoenix Film Festival 2026
Event Description
Weβre honored to help share an upcoming documentary screening featured at the Phoenix Film Festival: Flowers Beyond the Dark β a powerful and deeply human film about the first months of Russiaβs full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Told through real documentary footage and firsthand testimonies from people who experienced occupation, the film captures not only the brutality of war, but also the resilience, dignity, and humanity that persist in its shadow.
Creating a film during an ongoing war is no small feat. It is both an artistic and civic actβone that seeks to bring truth, awareness, and connection to audiences around the world.
This screening is especially meaningful as members of the filmβs creative team will be present, including:
Director Iryna Pravylo (traveling from Ukraine)
Cinematographer Oleksandr Meshcheriakov (traveling from Ukraine)
Producer Yulia Zimmermann
Following select screenings, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, offering a rare chance to hear directly from those documenting history as it unfolds.
If youβve been looking for a meaningful way to better understand the realities of the war in Ukraineβand to support Ukrainian voicesβthis is an important opportunity.
